Manning - John Peter Reinart , 93, a retired drayman, died
early Monday, March 1, at Manning General Hospital. He entered the
hospital about a week ago. Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated
at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Church here by the Rev. Norbert
Weber, M.S.C. Grandsons of Mr. Reinart will be pallbearers. Burial will
be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Ohde Funeral Home here after 2 p.m.
Tuesday. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. by the Altar Society
and there will be a Bible service led by Fr. Weber at 8:30 p.m., both on Tuesday.
Mr. Reinart, son of Matthew and Susie Friedman Reinart, was born
June 6, 1882, at Roselle and attended Holy Angels School there. He
married Emma Schenking Jan. 21, 1908, and they farmed near Halbur,
Roselle and Manning. Fifty years ago they moved to Manning, where Mr.
Reinart worked for the Dultmeier Manufacturing Co. before establishing
his own drayline. He retired about 15 years ago.
Since the death of his wife on March 18, 1969, Mr. Reinart has
lived with a daughter, Mrs. Joe Hoffman of Manning.
He is survived by six children: Harold and Mrs. John (Elvira)
Sporrer of Glidden, Hilbert of Carroll, Leo of Sioux City, Mrs. Hoffman
(Cletta) of Manning and Melvin of Chicago; 26 grandchildren and 33
great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Neu Lindsay of Texas
and Mrs. Mary Schneider of Holdridge, Neb.
Mr. Reinart was preceded in death by a son, Clarence; two other
sons in infancy; a granddaughter, three sisters and three brothers in
addition to his wife.
