Gary Ricketts
Gary L. Ricketts, 64, of Aledo, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002,
at his home.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at College Avenue
Presbyterian Church, Aledo, with the Rev. Carl Stoldt officiating.
Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at College Avenue Presbyterian
Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or
American Lung Association. Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo, is in charge of arrangements.
Gary was born on July 26, 1938, to Glenn and Mildred Waugh
Ricketts. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. Gary and Lois
Stevens were married on June 19, 1964.
Gary worked for International Harvester-Farmall Works for 21
years, until its closing. He then worked for American Honda, Davenport, for 16 years.
Gary was a member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church, having
served in many capacities including: trustee, deacon, Sunday school
teacher and a member of the Session. He was also an active member of the
Aledo Exchange Club. He enjoyed golfing, especially with his wife and friends.
Gary is survived by his wife, Lois; a son and daughter-in-law,
Eric and Crissie Ricketts, Reston, Va.; grandsons, Owen and Andy
Ricketts; brothers and their wives, Maynard and Donna Ricketts,
Kirkwood, Ill., and Wilbur and Dorothy Ricketts, Little York; and a
sister, Marian Hughes, Aledo.
