Ill a Week, Woman, 49, Dies in Seaton
Mrs. Glenn Ricketts Funeral Held Monday;
Suffered Illness of Flu and Kidney Ailment
Funeral services for Mrs. Glenn Ricketts were held Monday
afternoon in the Seaton Presbyterian church with Rev. Carl Sandberg
officiating. Burial was in Greenmound cemetery, Keithsburg.
Mrs. Ricketts died Saturday morning, August 2, 1941, at 9:30
o'clock at her home after an illness of a week with the flu, followed by
an acute kidney ailment.
She was born September 26, 1897, near Larchland, the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. O. K. Waugh of New Boston. She was married August 1, 1916
to Glenn Ricketts and 12 children were born. Twin boys and one daughter
died in infancy, and a son Orin died September, 26, 1939.
Surviving are the husband, three daughters, Mrs. Enid Shaner of
Rozetta, Mrs. Marian Hughes of Aledo, Miss Ruth of Elgin and five sons,
Maynard, Harold, Wilbur, Dwight and Gary at home, and two grandchildren,
Rosalee and Gerald Hughes. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. K. Waugh of New
Boston, two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Goodjoin of Shallow Water, Texas, Mrs.
Gertrude Cooper of Little York and seven brothers, Loren of Redwood
Falls, Minn., Cecil and Ivan of Little York, William Wade and Kenneth of
Aledo and Murle at home.
