Margaret Roach

Mrs. William Roach died at her home 3 1/2 miles southeast of Corning at an early hour Friday morning July 4. She was aged about 80 years. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock at St. Patrick's Catholic church, conducted by Rev. Father O'Neal, of Davenport, and interment was made in Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Roach, formerly Miss Margaret Cullen, was born in County Wexford, Ireland. She was married to William Roach, near LaSalle, Illinois, where they made their home for some time. To this union three sons were born. William preceded his mother in death, and James and Thomas are left to mourn the loss of their mother and father, the latter having died some years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Roach with their family came to Corning early in the 70's and made their home in our city for a few years then located on the farm southeast of Corning, which has since been the family home. Mrs. Roach was a lady who made many friends and a large circle of acquaintances mourn her demise. She had been in poor health for some time and her death was not unexpected. Mr. Cullen, a nephew of the deceased, and his daughter, from Chicago, attended the funeral.
