William Roach
William Roach died Friday at the family residence in Mercer
township, aged 78 years. The funeral was held Monday at St. Patrick's
church, at 10:30, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Father Nodler, Interment
was made in Mount Calvary cemetery.
William Roach came to Adams county from Illinois in 1872, and
settled in Corning with his family. He lived here a number of years,
removing to Quincy township in 1879, residing there one year, when he
remove onto the home farm where he died. He leaves a wife and two sons,
James and Thomas. Mr. Roach was, until his late illness the past few
years, a very industrious gentleman, andconscientious in the discharge
of all duties, and attending strictly to his own affairs, he was also a
great home man. Mr. Roach has many friends who sympathize with his family.
