Etta Robbins Dies Suddenly At Residence
Heart Attack Takes Life Resident of Preemption; Hold Funeral Tuesday
Mrs. Bruce Robbins, aged 59, died suddenly at her home in
Preemption of a heart attack, Saturday evening, Dec. 2, 1944, at 10:45.
Etta Mary Bell, the youngest daughter of William and Mary Bell,
was born in Preemption, March 18, 1885. She was educated in the
Preemption schools and on May 5, 1909 was married to Bruce Robbins in Rock Island.
Life Resident
She has resided in the Preemption community ever since.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Dorothy at home,
Mrs. Elvin Douglas of Aledo and Mrs. Virgil Baker of Battle Creek,
Mich.; one son, Earl, associated with his father in farming; one
grandson, Kenneth Douglas; one granddaughter, Patricia Baker; a sister,
Mrs. Margaret Haddock of Rock Island; a brother, James Bell of Moline.
Church Member
She was a member of St. Joseph's church and the Altar society.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in St.
Anthony's church in Matherville and burial was in Viola cemetery.
