James Ryner

  James Ryner, 79, Monmouth, Ill., died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at Community Medical, Monmouth.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Turnbull Funeral Home, Monmouth. Burial is in Alexis Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today.
  He was born Jan. 30, 1924, the son of James and Clara Ranney Ryner. He married Betty M. Caldwell Aug. 24, 1944.
  Survivors (and spouses) are his wife, Betty, Monmouth; sons, Frank (Virginia) Ryner, Rock Island, Richard (Glenda) Ryner, Monmouth, Larry (Joan) Ryner, Monmouth, David (Suzanne) Ryner, Monmouth, and Donald (Mindy) Ryner, Dallas, Texas; sister, Virginia (Robert) Kilgore, Galesburg; brothers, Charles (Reva) Ryner, Alexis, and Dean (Pauline) Ryner, Little Rock, Ark.; 16 grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

James E. Ryner

  Monmouth - James E. Ryner, 79, Monmouth, died at 7:05 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 30, 2003), in Community Medical Center.
  He was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of James and Clara Ranney Ryner.
  He married Betty M. Caldwell on Aug. 24, 1944, in Alexis.
  Surviving are his wife; five sons, Frank L. (and Virginia) Ryner, Rock Island, Richard E. (and Glenda) Ryner, Larry W. (and Joan) Ryner and David J. (and Suzanne) Ryner, all of Monmouth, and Donald P. (and Mindy) Ryner, Dallas; one sister, Virginia (and Robert) Kilgore, Galesburg; two brothers, Charles G. (and Reva) Ryner, Alexis, and Dean C. (and Pauline) Ryner, Little Rock, Ark.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robert Ryner, one daughter, Janet Ryner, and two sisters.
He attended Coldbrook rural schools and Monmouth and Alexis High Schools, graduating from Alexis High School.
  He began doing farm work in the area; and then worked for Farmall Implement in Rock Island; Butler Manufacturing; Midwest Manufacturing; as a mechanic for Neff Implement in Monmouth; and Monmouth Hospital, retiring from Community Memorial Hospital in 1985. He also operated Maple City Delivery Service in 1955.
  He was a member of the Gerlaw Christian Church.
  Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Turnbull Funeral Home, with the Rev. Suzanne Geer officiating. Friends may call Monday at the funeral home; family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Alexis Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the Warren County Cancer Fund.
