Nemaha Woman Passes at Early

Mrs. C. W. Sanders Dies in Home of Niece in Fifty-sixth Year.

  Early, June 21. - Dora B. Sanders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Thorpe, was born in Wright county, Iowa October 22, 1872 and died Monday, June 18, 1928 at Early, Iowa, in the home of her niece, Mrs. Dell Wolford, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 26 days. When a small child she with her parents moved to Missouri where they resided a short time. From there they moved to Indiana and in 1878 moved to Sac county and settle on a farm near Early where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to C. W. Sanders January 10, 1900. To this union two sons, Elmer and Aubrey, were born. Mrs. Sanders had been ill for several months and despite of all that medical skill could do she gradually grew weaker until death relieved her of her suffering. Mrs. Sanders during her lifetime continued to manifest a cheerful spirit and faith in her master and passed away thinking all was for the best. She united with the Methodist church in Early, early in life and later transferred her membership to the church at Nemaha. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal church at Early Wednesday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Robt. Grigsby, assisted by the Rev. W. L. Patterson of Early. Music was furnished by a quartet, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Jackson, Mrs. L. A. Hirons and C. J. Allen, who sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", "Nearer, My God, to Thee" and "Going Down the Valley", with Miss Dorothy Wiseman as pianist. Six nephews, Emery Schneider, Clair and Frank Armagust, Lee, Merrill and Lamont Thorpe, served as pall-bearers. Interment was made in the Early cemetery. The large assemblage of friends from Nemaha and Early and the beautiful floral offerings bore testimony of the esteem in which Mrs. Sanders was regarded by all. She is survived by her husband and two sons, of Nemaha, one granddaughter, Phyllis Rae Sanders, of Nemaha besides two sisters, Mrs. Peter Schneider of Early, Mrs. Wm. Rennfeldt of Holstein, one brother, Frank Thorpe of Early and many other relatives and friends.

  Mrs. Wilbur Sanders passed away Monday evening, June 18, 1928, at the home of her niece, Mrs. Jessie Wolford, at Early, Iowa, after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at Early on Wednesday afternoon, June 20, Mrs. Sanders has been a resident of this community for many years, and her friends join in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
