Wall Lake - Funeral services for Mildred A. Sanders of Wall
Lake will be Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Wall Lake.
Mrs. Sanders died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1990, at Twilight Acres
Nursing Home in Wall Lake.
A wake service will be tonight at 8 o'clock at the Farber and Otteman
Funeral Home in Wall Lake.
Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Chalon Post of
the American Legion of Wall Lake.
The Rev. Jerome Degen will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Sanders was born Sept. 22, 1912, at Hot Springs, S.D., a
daughter of George and Ada (Frye) Alkire.
She served with the WACs during World War II.
On Jan. 19, 1945, she married Carlton Sanders at Fall River, S.D.
They farmed for many years in the Herring area. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sister, Mabel Allen of Lamont, Calif.; a
brother, Sid Alkire of San Diego, and two half-brothers, Lester Parker
of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Richard Parker of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and two brothers.
