Viola "Vi" Schleisman

  Viola "Vi" Schleisman, 92, of Carroll, died this morning Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Carroll Health Center nursing home in Carroll. Funeral arrangements are pending at Twit Funeral Home in Carroll.

Viola "Vi" Schleisman

  Mass of the Christian burial for Viola "Vi" Schleisman of Carroll will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll.
  Mrs. Schleisman, 92, of 614 N. East St., died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Carroll Health Center.
The Revs. James McCormick and Peter Due Nguyen will officiate the Mass. Lector will be Rick Happe. Eucharistic minister will be Joan Trobak.
  Casket bearers will be Joe Happe, Rob Walker, Marty Snyder, Dick Rickc. Steve Reinart and Jon Davis.
  Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
  Friends will call after 2:30 and the Legion of Mary will pray a rosary at 3 Friday afternoon at Twit Funeral Home in Carroll. There will be a vigil service at 7:30 Friday night at the funeral home,
  A daughter of Joe and Kate (Olbertz) Reinart, she was born May 8, 1906, at Halbur. Her family moved to Carroll in 1912 and she graduated from Carroll High School in 1924.
  She and Douglas Schleisman were married May 4, 1932, at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., with the Rev. Leo Heiser officiating.
  Mrs. Schleisman was a buyer of women's apparel for 50 years, working 25 years in Michigan and 25 at Iowa City.
  She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Legion of Mary. Survivors include four sisters: Isabel Presnell of Carroll. Lucille Davis of Omaha, Neb., Alita Snyder of Breda and Lucinda Ocken of Plantation, Fla.; two brothers: Eugene Reinart of Davenport and Art, Reinart of Carroll; and a sister-in- law, Lucille Hendrick, of Three Rivers, Mich.
  Mrs. Schleisman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Douglas, in 1977; and a brother, LeRoy Reinart.
