Graveside services for Mardelle Schmidt, 72, of rural
Reynolds, are 2 p.m. Monday at Reynolds Cemetery. There is no visitation.
Larson Funeral Home, Milan, is handling arrangements. Memorials
may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation.
Mrs. Schmidt died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.
Mardelle was born Nov. 1, 1929, in Davenport, to Herman and
Amelia Paegel Wulf. She married Bernard Schmidt Jan. 12, 1954, in Iowa City.
She graduated from Davenport High School in 1947.
She worked as a stenographer for several downtown Davenport
businesses prior to marrying Bernard.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard; daughter, Kathleen Dean,
Reynolds; son, Grant Schmidt, Bettendorf, Bradley Schmidt, Palatine,
Ill., and Lee Schmidt, Aledo; eight grandchildren; her mother, Amelia
Wulf, Davenport; sister, Suzanne Dengler, Davenport; and a brother, Dr.
Ronald Wulf, Princeton, N.J. She was preceded in death by her father.
