| Former Resident Of Viola Dies In Galesburg
Rites Held Today For Mrs. Schneider
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Schneider of Galesburg,
former Viola resident, were held at 9:30 a.m. today from the St. John's
Catholic church in Viola with Rev. C. M. Meyer officiating and burial
was in the Viola Catholic cemetery.
Mrs. Schneider died at her home in Galesburg at 4 o'clock Monday
morning. She was 80 years old.
The rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the John
Leahigh home at 1576 Kellogg street, in Galesburg. The body was taken to
the Leahigh home Monday evening from the Davis Funeral home in Aledo.
Mrs. Schneider, the daughter of Louis and Anna Schaechter, was
born May 18, 1868 in Paris, France. She is survived by her husband
Joseph, a son Louis of Galesburg; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Leahigh and
Mrs. Mary English, both of Galesburg and Mrs. Grace Mack of Rock Island;
a brother, Louis Schaechter, of Viola and 11 grandchildren.
Her parents, a daughter Helene and a brother John preceded her in death.
