shortly after midnight May 18, 1952 at the Swallum Hospital at Storm
Lake after a lingering illness, having reached the age of 85 years, 5
months and 13 days.
She was the last of a family of seven children born to Sanford
and Julia Hall Thorpe and came with her parents to Sac county in 1877
where she grew to womanhood and was married to Peter Schneider July 19,
1893 at Early, Iowa. Her husband preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1936. A
son died in infancy and a grandson at the age of two.
One son Emery survives his mother, as does the daughter-in-law,
Merle Schneider and one grandson Pete, now with the armed forces in Alabama.
Mrs. Schneider was a member of the Methodist Church. She was a
devoted wife and mother and loved her home and family dearly, but owing
to poor health was seldom seen away from home. Beside her one son and
his family she leaves many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
