Marvin Schoening
Marvin Schoening, 84, of Aledo, formerly of Rock Island, died
Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at Aledo Health Care Center, Aledo.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home,
Milan. Burial, with military honors presented by American Legion Post
569/200 and VFW Post 1303, will be in Preemption Cemetery. Visitation
will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials
may be made to the Aledo Health Care Center.
Marvin was born Feb. 7, 1921, in Fulton, Mo., a son of Henry and
Edna Wilson Schoening. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a truck driver for Dohrn Transfer Co., Rock Island, for
many years until his retirement in 1982.
Marvin was a member of American Legion Post 569, Milan, and
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1303, Rock Island.
He is survived by his sisters, Betty Murray, El Monte, Calif.,
Adelia Fast, Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Bobby Schoening, Fulton, Mo.;
and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in
death by his parents; brothers, Clarence, Cecil and Clyde Schoening; and
a sister, Margaret Weeks.Online condolences may be left for the family
