Allen Short
Allen E. Short, 64, of Prior Lake, Minn., formerly of Reynolds,
passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, Minn.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, at Holy Trinity
United Methodist Church, 16150 Arcadia Ave. S.E., Prior Lake. Locally,
visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Wheelan-Pressly
Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Graveside services will be 11 a.m.
Wednesday, May 7, at Reynolds Cemetery. Burial with military honors will
be at Reynolds Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Reynolds United Methodist Church.
Allen was born June 3, 1943, in Moline, a son of Robert Allen
Short and Pearl Reata Holden Short. Allen married Connie Parchert on
Dec. 18, 1965, at the Reynolds Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Allen worked in management in the computer industry. He enjoyed
golfing, hunting, gardening and his major interest, his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Short, Prior Lake; daughters
(and spouses), Maia (Patrick) Caldwell, Prior Lake, Tia Scott,
Lakeville, Minn.; five grandchildren, Logan, Hannah and Jeremiah
Caldwell, Sarah and Brenna Scott; brothers, Robert Edward (Liz) Short,
Cabool, Mo., Thomas Short, Cabool; sisters-in-law, Linda Brown, Viola,
and Shirley Parchert, Reynolds; brother-in-law, Arnold (Jan) Parchert,
Somonauk, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Robert and Pearl Short; and his parents-in-law, Carl and Gloryl
