Bernice C. Smith, 83, of Silvis, died Sept. 10, 2003, at
Aspenwood Care Center, Silvis.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis.
Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
She was born Aug. 26, 1920, in Cambridge, daughter of Oscar and
Lillian Scott Dahlgren. She married William Smith Nov. 10, 1942, in
Philadelphia, Pa. He died April 8, 2000.
She worked for Clean Towel, East Moline. She was a member of
Faith Lutheran Church, Moline, and the Lutheran Women's Circle. She also enjoyed camping.
Survivors (and spouses) include daughter, Norreta (Tom) Caldwell,
Henderson, Nev.; sons, Kevin (Sue) Smith, Colona, and Richard Smith,
East Moline; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister,
Marilyn Doxsee, Boone, Iowa; and a brother, Lymon Dahlgren, New Windsor.
