Services for William B. ``Bill'' Smith, 80, formerly of 703
3rd Ave., Silvis, are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis.
Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
Mr. Smith died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Aspenwood Health Care, Silvis.
He was born May 24, 1919, in Clairmont, Alberta, Canada, the son
of Harold and Ruth Wilson Smith. He married Bernice Dahlgren Nov. 10,
1942, in Philadelphia, Pa.
He was a mechanic for International Harvester, East Moline, for 40 years.
He was a WW II Army Air Forces veteran.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Moline; Viking and
Moose lodges, Moline; NCHA camping club; UAW Local 1340, East Moline;
and was involved with the Boy Scouts through his church.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice; a daughter and son-in-law,
Norreta and Tom Caldwell, Las Vegas, Nev.; sons and a daughter-in-law,
Kevin and Sue Smith, Colona, and Richard Smith, East Moline; a sister,
Thelma Tucker, Moline; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
