Christine "Tena" Snyder

  Mass of the Christian burial for Christine "Tena" Snyder of Breda will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 1997, at St. Bernard Church in Breda.
  Mrs. Snyder, 89, died Monday, June 9, 1997, at Carroll Manor, her home since last year.
  The Rev. Thomas Hart will officiate the Mass. Lectors will be Julie Steinkamp, Cheryl Stork and Tina Scribante. Eucharistic minister will be Carl Snyder. Servers will be Jeff Boeckman, Casey Snyder, Christopher Nieland and Matt Brincks. Gift bearers will be Carlene Brincks, Deb Nieland, Lisa Siepker, Jodi Lenz, Jill Steinkamp and Jenni Steinkamp.
  Casket bearers will be Larry Boeckman, Daryl Boeckman, Dan Snyder, Randy Snyder, Joe Snyder and Brian Steinkamp. Honorary casket bearers will be Dean Boeckman, Rick Snyder, Glen Snyder, Alan Snyder and Doug Snyder.
  Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery at Breda,
  Friends will call after 2:30 and the St. Bernard Ladies Guild, the Breda Senior Citizens Club and the National Catholic Society of Foresters will pray the rosary at 3 Wednesday afternoon at Sharp Funeral Home in Breda. St. Bernard Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7:30 Wednesday night at the funeral home.
  She was born Nov. 5, 1907, at Wall Lake, a daughter of Bernard and Elizabeth (Rauch) Grote. Her family moved to Mount Carmel and she attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel schools.
  She and Walter Snyder were married Dec. 29, 1931, at St. Bernard Church in Breda.
  The Snyders farmed northeast of Breda. They moved into town in 1985.
  Survivors include four children and their spouses; Madonna .and Duane Boeckman of Breda, Roger Snyder of Breda, Carl and Mary Snyder of Breda and Linda and Ken Steinkamp of Breda; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Snyder, of Carroll; two sisters-in-law: Colette Grote of Carroll and Edith Leonard of Berwyn, Ill.; and a brother-in-law, Ed Snyder, and his wife, Alita, of Breda.
  Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter, in 1976; a great-granddaughter, Melissa Stork; a brother, Herman Grote; and three sisters: Laura Oswald, Agnes Stork and Marguerite Derner.
