Pneumonia Takes Two Saturday
One Other Killed In Auto Accident
Deaths of four well known persons, one of a tragic nature,
marred the holiday festivities in this vicinity Saturday and Sunday.
The tragedy was the accidental death Of J. J. Foley, auctioneer
and fire chief of Lake City, while he was returning to his home from
Carroll about midnight Saturday.
The other deaths were:
H. W. Fessler, of Carroll, of pneumonia, following influenza.
Matthew John Heires, of Breda, of pneumonia following influenza.

Breda (Special) - Mrs. Joe Snyder died at her home here at
10:00 Sunday evening following a paralytic stroke. She suffered a stroke
last March which was succeeded by several others. She had been seriously
ill for the last few weeks.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 9:30 o'clock at
St. Bernard's church. The Rev. E. L. Schleyer will celebrate requiem
high mass. Burial will be in St. Bernard's cemetery.
Lena Hamers was born April 30, 1880 in Kniest township and was
married in St. Bernard's church to Joseph Snyder, May 1, 1900. She had
been a resident of this community all her life.
She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs.
Joe Feldman (Mae), Cyril, Walter, Fred, Edgar and Edith Snyder. She also
leaves two sisters, Mrs. M. A. Snyder, of Breda; Mrs. Henry Reiff, of
Carroll, a brother, Herman Hamers, and two half-brothers, Henry Hamers,
of Carroll, and John Hamers, of Minnesota.
She was a devout member of St. Bernard's church and died well
fortified with the last rites. She was a member of the Christian Mothers society.
