Joseph Snyder Of Breda Dies This Morning
Funeral Services Will Be At St. Bernard's Church Saturday
Breda (HNS) - Joseph Snyder, 69, died at the St. Anthony
Hospital in Carroll at 6:30 this morning. His death was attributed to
uremia and complications following an operation for double hernia. He
had been ill a little more than two weeks.
The body is being returned today from the Olerich Funeral Home to
the family residence, where it will repose until the time of the rites.
Services are to be at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Bernard's
Church. Burial will be beside his wife in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Snyder had lived near Breda all of his life. He was born on a
farm near here Nov. 1, 1871, a son of Matt and Mathilda Snyder. May 1,
1900, he was married to Miss Helen Hamers at St. Bernard's Church. They
took up their residence on a farm one mile north and one mile cast of
Breda, which has been the family home since then. Mrs. Snyder died Dec. 25, 1932.
Surviving are six children: Mrs. Joe Feldman (Mae), Cyril and
Walter Snyder, Breda; Fred Snyder, Chicago; Edith and Edgar Snyder, at
home; fifteen grandchildren; six brothers, Henry, Matt and John Snyder,
Breda; Frank Snyder, Lake View; Ted Snyder, Mt. Carmel, and Leo Snyder,
Okabena, Minn., and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Van Erdowyk, (Lena), Breda,
and Mrs. Jake Berger (Margaret), Leeds.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two sons who
died in Infancy, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Brinker (Elizabeth).
Mr. Snyder was u member of St. Bernard's Church and the Holy Name
Society of the parish.

Joseph Snyder Funeral Rites Held at Breda
Breda (HNS) - Funeral services for Joseph Snyder were held a t
St. Bernard's Church at 9 o'clock Saturday morning. Rev. E. L. Schleyer
celebrated the requiem high mass. Burial took place in St. Bernard's
Cemetery. The Catholic Order of Foresters of which he was a member
attended the funeral in a body. Pallbearers were Ben Stork, Ben Boeckman,
Ben Schettler, Eugene Schettler, Andrew Hauser and Joseph Wessling. Mass
servers were two of his grandsons.
Relatives who came to attend the rites were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Snyder,
Okebena, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Snyder, Lake View, Mr.
and Mrs. Ted Snyder of Mt. Carmel, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Berger and son,
Herbert, Mrs. Herbert Ringler, Mrs. Marcellus Berger of Sioux City, Miss
Elizabeth Tegels, Lamberton, Minn., Mrs. Elizabeth Canal, Marshall,
Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Albert Reiff of Varina, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tegels,
Maple River, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hamers, Mrs. Mary Reiff, Mrs. Mary
Underberg, Mrs. Lena Tegels of Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Tegels of
Fonda and numerous relatives and friends from the surrounding community.
