Walter Snyder
Breda - Walter Snyder, 71, died at his home in Breda about 4
a.m. Wednesday, June 30. He was a lifelong Breda resident.
Mass of the resurrection will be con-celebrated at St. Bernard's
Church here Friday at 1:30 p.m. by his nephew, the Rev. Joe Snyder, S.J.,
of St. Louis, Mo., and the Rev. Dennis Sefcik. Interment will be in the
parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Breda after 7:30
p.m. Wednesday. The rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. and
Thursday at 3 and 8:45 p.m. There will be a scriptural prayer service at
8 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Snyder, son of Joseph and Helen Hamers Snyder, was born July
12, 1906, one mile east and one-half mile north of Breda. His marriage
to Christine Grote took place Dec. 29, 1931, at St. Bernard's Church
here with the late Rev. Fr. Schleier officiating. He was a member of the church.
Surviving are his wife: four children, Mrs. Duane (Madonna)
Boeckman, Roger and Carl of Breda and Mrs. Kenneth (Linda) Steinkamp of
Carroll; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Snyder of California and
Edgar Snyder of Breda: a sister, Mrs. John J. (Edith) Leonard of Berwyn, Ill.
Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mrs.
J.J. Feldmann; and three brothers, Cyril and two in infancy.
