Frank W. Sporrer

  Funeral service for Frank W. Sporrer will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll.
  Mr. Sporrer, 86, of Carroll, died of a heart condition Sunday, Dec. 5, at Mallard View Residential Care Facility in Carroll, following a sudden illness.
  Father Peter Nguyen will preside at the service. Lector will be Mr. Sporrer's sister, Anna Mae Hacker.
  Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton.
  Because of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception there will be only a funeral service on Wednesday. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at Holy Spirit, with Father Nguyen as celebrant. Gift bearers will be Anna Mae Hacker, his sister-in-law, Elvira Sporrer, and a niece Marilyn Spies.
  Casket bearers will be Albert Kluver, Frank Knueven, Cliff Hacker, Tom Reinart, Joe Behrens and Greg Buelt.
Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. and there will be a rosary at 3 p.m. and a Christian wake service by the parish at 7:30 p.m. today, Dec. 7, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.
  Born Sept. 14, 1913, in Dedham, he was a son of Frank and Mary (Serbers) Sporrer. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Templeton.
  He farmed with his parents near Templeton for 44 years. In addition, he owned and operated Frank's Tavern in Westside from 1944 to 1948, a tavern in Manning from 1948 to 1949 and Frank's Tavern in Glidden from 1949 until his retirement in 1969.
  He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll.
  Mr. Sporrer is survived by a sister, Anna Mae Hacker, of Manning; a brother, John Sporrer, and his wife, Elvira, of Glidden; and several nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Henry Hacker.
