| Mary Spurgeon
Mary M. Spurgeon, 91, of Macomb, died Saturday, June 15, 1991,
at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
Services were this morning, Wednesday, at St. Bernard's Catholic
Church, Bushnell, where she was a member. Burial was in Prairie City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Macomb, or St. Bernard's.
The former Mary Titterington was born Aug. 25, 1899, in Mercer
County, the daughter of George C. and Catherine McCarthy Titterington.
She married Merle J. Spurgeon May 17, 1922, in Preemption. He died Feb. 17, 1978.
Mrs. Spurgeon graduated from the Villa de Chantel, Rock Island,
and attended Western Illinois State Teachers College, Macomb.
Survivors include daughters, Catherine Fisher, Fort Collins, CO;
Mary Jane Euchen, Avon and Betty Garner, Macomb; 14 grandchildren, and
26 great-grandchildren.
