Mrs. Minnie Stangl
Manning - Mrs. Minnie Stangl, 79, Manning, died Sunday
morning, Feb. 21 at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, where she was taken
a week ago. She had been in ill health for about a year.
Requiem mass will be read at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Church here
by the .Rev. P. J. Nooney. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with
nephews as pallbearers. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at
the Ohde Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stangl was born May 15, 1885, at Dedham, a daughter of Henry
and Minnie Scharnagl
Willenborg. She was reared at Templeton and on June 18, 1907, married
Fred Stangl. They farmed for many years in Nebraska and in 1927 moved to
the Gray - Templeton area. In 1932 they moved to a farm south of
Manning; and Mr. Stangl died June 14, 1945. In 1954, Mrs. Stangl moved
into Manning. She is survived by five children: Mrs. Melvin (Florence)
Grimm, Manning; Sr. M. Hilary, Grand Haven, Mich.; Frederick, Aurora,
Colo.; Leonard, and Mrs. Ray (Agatha) Lohmeler, Omaha; a
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Stangl, Manning; 16 grandchildren; one
sister, Mrs. Clara Feilmeier, Carroll; and three brothers, George
Willenborg, Dedham; Ben Willenborg, Templeton; and Leonard Willenborg,
Guthrie Center.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three children,
Leona, as a child; Rita in 1950; and August, in 1954; also two sisters,
Ann and Mrs. Frances Uhlenkamp; and three brothers, Clement, Henry and
John Willenborg.
