Tony
Starcevich
Tony M. Starcevich, 57, of Milan, formerly of Matherville,
died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church,
Milan. Burial will be at Farlow Grove Cemetery, Matherville. Visitation
will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E.
4th Ave., Milan, where a Christian wake service will be conducted at
7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to either Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House
or Matherville Volunteer Fire Department.
Tony Mathew Starcevich was born March 6, 1951, in Moline, a son
of Mathew Starcevich and Ruth Marie Tary Starcevich. He married Cindi
Mack on March 24, 1973, in Matherville.
Tony worked at the former International Harvester, Farmall Works
for 15 years. Following the closure of the Farmall Works, he worked at
the Rock Island Arsenal for several years.
He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan, and the
Matherville Eagles Club. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and
Chicago Cubs. He loved playing golf.
Surviving are his wife, Cindi Starcevich, Milan; daughter,
Christine Starcevich, Rock Island; son (and fiancee) Jim Starcevich
(Andrea Porter), Matherville; brother, John (Nancy) Starcevich,
Matherville; sisters, Debbie (Dan) Egan, Nixa, Mo., Cindy (Tom) Adams,
Matherville, and Judy (Starcevich) King, Michigan; mother-in-law,
Patricia Mack, Milan; his faithful companion, Cane; many nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his
parents; brother, Terry Starcevich; sister, Sue Ellen Whitenack; and
father-in-law, James V. Mack.
