Frank A. Stark Dies Suddenly This Morning
Funeral Services For Longtime Carroll Resident Probably Monday
Frank A. Stark, who had spent virtually all of his life in
Carroll, died suddenly at the St. Anthony Hospital early this morning.
Mr. Stark, who had been in ill health for the last two years, had, been
at the hospital for the past week. He had planned to return home from
the hospital Sunday, intending to enter the Oakdale Sanitarium later.
Death claimed him at the age of 62 years.
The body is a t the Luft Funeral Home, awaiting the completion of
funeral arrangements. Although plans are not definite, rites will
probably be held at the funeral home Monday morning.
Mr. Stark, a native of Canada, was born June 8, 1878, a son of
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stark. He was a boy of eight or nine years when the
family came to Carroll, where he had lived since that time. He attended
the public and high schools here.
For the last seventeen years he had been custodian of the Carroll
post office. Illness had forebade attendance to his duties for the last six weeks.
Oct. 2, 1918, Mr. Stark was married to Miss Marie Reck of Halbur,
who, with three daughters, survive. The daughters are Myra, a. postulant
at St. Rose Convent, LaCrosse, Wis., Norma and Mary Ann, at home. Myra
is expected to arrive from LaCrosse Sunday morning.
Mr. Stark was preceded in death by one sister and one
half-brother. His sister, Mrs. Minnie Winter of Davenport, passed away last August.
