Alice Sullivan
Mrs. Alice Sullivan, widow of Timothy Sullivan, a pioneer of
Adams county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. J. Reardon, in
Omaha, Friday, August 31, 1928. The body was brought to Corning and
funeral services were held at the Catholic church Saturday morning at
9:30, conducted by Rev. Father Powers. Burial was made in Calvary cemetery.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in Bankston, Dubuque county, August 11,
1855. She was married to Timothy Sullivan in 1884 and soon after came to
Adams county, which was her home for many years. She is survived by
three children, Raymond Sullivan, of Rivieria, Texas; Miss Alice
Sullivan, of Kansas City, and Mrs. Lucille Reardon, of Omaha; also eight
grandchildren, Alice, Josephine, Leona, Leonilda Sullivan and John,
Richard, Michael and Mary Reardon.
Mrs. Sullivan was a fine lady and had won her way into the hearts
of many friends. Her passing casts a deep shadow of gloom over her many friends here.
Beside the children those from a distance who attended the
funeral were Mrs. M. Reardon and Celia, Mrs. Carl Sampson, Mr. and Mrs.
Ted Fessie, and Ed Reardon, of Creston; Mrs. Louis Lehrack, and Miss
Dorothy Lisherness, of Kansas City.
