John D. Sullivan
John Dennis Sullivan, only son of Dennis and Ora Tucker
Sullivan, was born in Quincy township of Adams County, Iowa, April 20,
1893 and passed away at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, on April
25,1974, at the age of 81 years and 5 days.
Denny had never married and was preceded in death by his parents
and step-father. He was a veteran of World War I. Denny was a hard
worker, and had worked for lumber yards and other businesses. As a young
man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He had a steadfast love of the Lord and read his many Bibles
hundreds of times from cover to cover. He enjoyed visiting with his
friends downtown, when health and weather permitted; and also listened
to many various religious programs when at home.
He is survived by one uncle, William G. Sullivan of Corning; two
aunts, Addie Rose of California; and Frances Williams of Tacoma; many
cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Roland Funeral Home in Corning,
April 27, at 2 p.m. with Rev. James King officiating. Interment was in
Oak Hill Cemetery.
Music was provided by Dorothy Cook and Kathy Johns. Pallbearers
were John Bridgeman, Vincent Sullivan, Ray Sullivan, George Tucker, Bill
Tucker and Rex Tucker.
