| Laura Swearingen
Funeral services for Laura B. Swearingen, 82, of Aledo will be
held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Jinks Funeral Home, Aledo. The Rev.
Donald Wise, pastor of the United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery.
Visitation is this afternoon and evening (Wednesday) at the
funeral home. Memorials were made to Vashti Village.
Miss Swearingen died Monday night, Feb. 11, 1985 at the
Georgetown Manors Nursing Home, Aledo.
Miss Swearingen was born May 9, 1902, near New Windsor, daughter
of Charles and Isabel Ramsey Swearingen.
She received her education in rural Mercer County schools and
moved to Chicago in 1922.
She was employed in the toy department of Marshall Fields,
Chicago, for many years. She returned to Aledo to live in 1984.
Surviving are six nieces and one nephew.
