Death of George Swift
Passed Away at Home near Havre This Early Morning.
At 6:30 this morning at his home one-half mile west of Havre
occurred the death of Mr. George Swift, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Swift,
of this city. Mr. Swift suffered from a complication of diseases, and
had been in a precarious condition for the past two weeks.
Mr. Swift has always lived in this county and was born on the
31st of October, 1865 on the old Swift place about two miles this side
of Ainsworth. He resided there with his parents, working on the farm
until his marriage to Miss Villa Lindsey, September 2, 1889, when they
moved to their own farm, west of Havre, where they have since resided.
Mr. and Mrs. Swift were the parents of eight children, three boys and
five girls, Etteine, Edith, Bessie, Ray, William, Ruth, Arthur,
Gertrude, all of whom are living. Besides his wife and children, Mr.
Swift's death is mourned by his father, mother, nine sisters and one brother.
Mr. Swift was a member of the Catholic church of this city. He
was a good man and a kind and loving father and his death is mourned by
all who knew him.
The funeral arrangements have not been made as yet.
