Jesse H. Swift Dies At Gary, Ind., Today
Jesse H. Swift of East Gary, Ind., died at his home this
morning following cerebral hemorrhage suffered late yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Swift is a brother of Pat Swift who live in the Pleasant Ridge
community and Mrs. John Westen of Washington.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock
at Gary with burial there.
Mr. Swift was born April 8, 1899, a son of John T. and Jessie
Reeves Swift five miles southeast of Washington. He grew to manhood here
living in this county until the family moved to Gary about 16 years ago.
He was water superintendent at the tin mills, a part of the United
States Steele corporation at Gary.
Surviving are his wife, the former Esther Belle Parks of Lebanon,
Kan., two sons, Robert Lee, 16, and Bruce Gerald, 8, of Gary; three
brothers, Francis of Davenport, Terry of Jennings, Kan., Pat of
Washington; two sisters, Mrs. John Westen of Washington and Mrs. James
Lowe of Brighton.
