Lloyd Swift, 74, Dies on Monday
Lloyd Swift, 74, of 715 East Washington Street died at 1 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 18, 1961, in the Veterans Hospital at Iowa City. He had
been seriously ill four days.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Jones
Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Elgin in charge. Military rites at the
graveside will be conducted by the American Legion.
Mr. Swift was born Dec. 1, 1887 in Washington County, a son of
James and Etta M. Lindsay Swift. He attended Washington Academy and
Davenport Business College.
He was married July 24, 1919 to Luella Beal.
Mr. Swift was a member of the Marion Avenue United Presbyterian
Church and the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are his wife; and a sister, Mrs. H. N. Mahin of Rock Island.
