Nellie Swift Obituary
Mrs. Francis Swift (Nellie Boyd) passed away Sunday, Aug. 9,
at 5:30 a. m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Wheelan, Cedar
Rapids, Iowa where she had made her home the past year.
She was born Oct. 10, 1870, near Ainsworth, Iowa, and was the
daughter of James Boyd and Jane (Reid) Boyd. She was married June 26,
1895 to Francis Swift who died July 7, 1930. Two children were born to
this union, Harry who died Dec. 23, 1933, and Mae (Mrs. Clarence Wheelan).
She leaves five grandchildren: Patricia Swift, Washington; Bob,
Harry, Frances, and Sue Wheelan of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are the
following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Martin Swift, Mrs. Alice Dyche,
Mrs. Margaret Allbaugh and James Boyd of Washington; Mrs. Grace Quinn,
Riverside; W. J. Boyd, Haskins; and Mrs. Anna Quinn, Stratton, Colorado.
A brother, Hugh, is deceased.

1936) Our hearts go cut in sincere sympathy to Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Wheelan and family who are mourning the loss of Mrs. Wheelan's
mother, Mrs. Nellie Swift, who passed away at the home of
her daughter, 1419 6th-ave. SE, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Swift was a resident of Washington, Ia., but came to reside
with her daughter about a year ago. The body was taken Monday afternoon
to Washington where funeral services were held in St. James church
Tuesday at 9 a. m., conducted by father Corcoran. Burial was in the Elm
Grove cemetery.
No sorrow there in glory.
In that bright land so fair;

There'll be no sorrow there.
