Patrick Swift, 83, dies in Washington
Patrick Howard Swift, formerly of the Washington area, died
Saturday in Goldendale, Wash., following a short illness, He was 83.
The funeral will be held Tuesday in Goldendale with graveside
services Wednesday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Kent, Wash.
Mr. Swift was born near Washington on Dec. 7, 1896 to John Thomas
and Jessie Ellen Reeves Swift. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Church
and farmed in this area until 1963, when he moved to Macomb, Ill. He
worked for the city of Macomb until retiring in 1969, when he moved to
the state of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive Long Swift.
Surviving are three sons, John M. of Valparaiso, Ind., William M.
of Goldendale, Wash, and Howard W. of Lakewood, Colo.; three daughters,
Mrs. Everette (Patricia) Curtis of Pulallup, Wash., Mrs. R.A. (Mary)
Elting of O'Fallon, Ill., and Mrs. Cora O'Neal of Kent, Wash.; a
brother, F.B. Swift of Davenport; 30 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mr. Swift's home address was Box 184, Goldendale, Wash.
