Bridget Talty
Monday afternoon, May 2nd 1892, of enlargement of the liver,
Bridget Talty; aged 57 years 8 months and 27 days, was born in Ennite,
Ireland, August 3rd 1835, came to this country in 1853. She was married
to George Talty Nov. 24th, 1863 at Rock Island, Illinois, and in 1870
moved to Atlantic; and 16 years ago moved to the present home northeast of Anita.
Mrs. Talty's health had been poor for several years, but her last
sickness was for about 6 weeks, when death came as a sweet relief. She
was a devoted Catholic and died in the hope of a blessed immortality.
She leaves behind to mourn the loss of a true and loving wife and
mother, a husband and four sons, the youngest 16 years old, and one
daughter; Mrs. Hickey. Though dead, she lives in the hearts of her
mourning children and husband, and many friends. The funeral occurred
from the Catholic church, Rev. Father Daly conducting the funeral
services, and her remains were laid to rest in the Atlantic Cemetery
followed by a large concourse of friends and relatives.
