Helen Watts Tangeman
Helen Tangeman, 77, died suddenly at her home in Corning
Sunday night. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Francis (Phyllis)
Mack of Corning; two sons, Edwin Watts of Lincoln, Neb. and Russell
Watts of Atlanta, Georgia, nine grandchildren and one sister.
Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in
Corning Wednesday, June 6, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. James King
officiating. Cremation will follow the services.

Helen L. Tangeman
Helen L. Tangeman, the daughter of Lewis Milton and Nora Mae
Whitacre Russell, was born March 31, 1902 at Bloomfield, Iowa and passed
away at her home in Corning, Iowa, June 3, 1979 at the age of 77 years,
2 months and 2 days.
On November 26, 1920, she married Bruce Watts at Bloomfield,
Iowa. Born to this union were one daughter and two sons. The couple
reared their family in Bloomfield and Corning.
In 1946 she moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where she married Charles
Knudson. He preceded her in death in 1968. In 1970 she married Loyd
Tangeman. Following his death in 1974, she returned to Corning, where
she lived until her death.
Mrs. Tangeman was a member of the United Methodist Church in Corning and
was also an over fifty year member of Eastern Star, being a member of
Emblem Chapter #64, O.E.S., Corning.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Phyllis) Mack of
Corning; two sons, Ed Watts of Lincoln, Neb. and Russell Watts of
Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Virginia (Mrs. Ed Watts) of Lincoln; a
son-in-law, Francis Mack of Corning; nine grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; a sister Edna Spear of Perry; two half-brothers,
Max Joseph of Centerville and Merle Whitacre of Itachia, Neb.; a
half-sister, Maxine Wich of Wellington, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Wlma
Watts of Bloomfield, Ia. and Florence Harris of Ottumwa, Iowa; other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Corning,
June 6, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James W. King officiating. Cremation
followed the services.
Music was provided by Dorothy Cook, organist, and Kathy Schafer,
soloist. Pallbearers were Dan Mack, Andy Mack, Bob Mack, John Lenz,
Dennis Watts and Chris Gauthier.
Out of town people who attended the funeral services included Mr.
and Mrs. A. T. Redmond and Elma Watts of Bloomfield, Iowa; Mel Thomas,
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Thomas and Kim of Ashland, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. F. E.
Watts, Kathy, Dennis and Christine of Lincoln, Neb.; Russell Watts of
Atlanta, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mack, Brent, Cori and Byron of Carroll,
Iowa and Andy Mack of Des Moines, Iowa.
