They sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," "Going Down the Valley One by One," and God be with you till We Meet Again.: The pall-bearers were: A. D. Woodke, John Harris, Charles Tanner, A. A. Resigue, R. F. Barnes and Forest Hudson. Burial was made in the Schaller cemetery.

Eliza Annabel Story was born in Dubuque county, Iowa, near Epworth, April 27, 1859. She died in Sioux City, Iowa April 22, 1929, lacking but a few days of her seventieth birthday.
Her father served in the Union army in the Civil war and was killed in action, leaving a family of six children to the care of her mother, who, with the heroism of the war widows of that day, successfully accomplished the task of rearing these fatherless children. Mrs. Taubman was educated in the public schools and in Epworth seminary and entered upon the occupation of teaching. In 1884, while teaching in Eureka township of Sac county, she met Mr. Thomas Edward Taubman to whom she was married on March 31, 1885.
For some twenty years this couple lived on a farm northwest of Schaller. In 1906 they removed to Schaller, which place was her home until the end of her life. She was the mother of three sons, all of whom died in infancy, and of two daughters who survive - Mrs. Emma Thorpe of Lake View, and Mrs. Leota Kimm of Pierson. Five grandchildren are children of these daughters. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. F. F. Parker of Decatur, Neb. and two brothers, S. A. Story of Dubuque and W. M. Story of Epworth.
Mrs. Taubman was a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Schaller and was an active participant in the work of the Woman's Relief Corps. In her youth she became a member of the Christian church and maintained a high standard of religious life. Her passing will be mourned by a host of neighbors and friends. The whole community joins in sympathy for the daughter sand the aged husband who in grave physical condition sustains this added sorrow.

Tribute to Mother

Once more upon these earthy stands
  The pale rider has drawn his rein;
He has bourne a soul to that better land
  Across Death' chilling main.
He has paused a moment in his flight
And bourne the soul of mother
Away from changing scenes of this world
To the unchanging scenes of another.
The morning hours, one by one,
To shores of time drew nigh,
And mother's spirit plumed its flight
From this house of clay to fly.
And at eight o'clock a ransomed soul
  Released from earth forever,
Sought that better land where no billows roll
  And sorrow cometh never.
Mother has gone to meet the Lord
  She served on earthly stand.
God grants you meet mother there
  In Heaven's better land.
Then weeping ones, as you lay her form
  Beneath the earth's cold clod,
In this hour of grief may you ever lean
  Upon the arm of God.
He guides and keeps you everywhere
  With ever-watchful eye.
And God grant you meet with mother there
  In Heaven bye and bye.
--Sacred to the memory of Eliza Annabel Taubman. Died April 22, 1929.

Mr. Taubman Dies in Sioux City Hospital

Death Resulted From a Fall Which She Received Ten Days Ago

The sad news came to Schaller on Monday morning that Mrs. T. E. Taubman had succumbed to her injuries and had died that morning at an early hour in the Methodist hospital at Sioux City where she was taken Tuesday.
Early the week before Mrs. Taubman received a fall from a lounge as she was attempting to wind the clock, which resulted in the fracture of a rib or two and also injuries in other ways which resulted in complications. Following the fall she grew worse and her daughters Mrs. Thorpe of Lake View and Mrs. Kimm of Pierson, came and it was decided best to take her to the hospital at Sioux City. Complications set in and it at once became evident her case was fast assuming a serious condition and the family was considerably concerned. Her injuries did not readily yield to treatment and it was quite apparent that her case was practically hopeless. To make it more distressing Mr. Taubman is seriously ill at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kimm of Pierson, where he is being cared for.
Funeral services are being held this afternoon (Thursday) at the Methodist church, with Rev. A. E. Buriff in charge.
