Funeral Rites Are Held Sunday For Mrs. Mary Taubman
Mrs. Mary Ellen Taubman, who has been in failing health for
the past year, died at 11 o'clock Friday morning in the Turner Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Buchner
chapel with the Rev. Harry D. Green, Methodist minister, in charge.
Junior Hicks sang two solos. Interment was made in Union Cemetery.
Mary Ellen, daughter of Noah and Hellen Goodrich, was born Nov.
1, 1866 at Buckhorn, Jackson county. Her marriage to Lynn Taubman
occurred on Feb. 25, 1884 at Maquoketa. The new home was started at
Schaller, Iowa, and they later moved to Willow Springs, Mo., where Mr.
Taubman died on May 7, 1938. Mrs. Taubman was a member of the Methodist
church in Willow Springs, Missouri.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. D. C. Battles of Maquoketa; four
grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and two nieces, Mrs. Ed
Kirchhoff of Maquoketa, and Mrs. Al Reynolds of Bristol, Indiana.
One child, one brother and one sister, also preceded her in death. |
