Robert H. Theulen Sr.

  Auburn - Robert H. Theulen, 71, of Auburn, died of an apparent heart condition Friday, Aug. 27, 1993, at his residence.
  Mass of the Christian burial for Mr. Theulen was celebrated at 1:30 this afternoon, Monday, Aug. 30, 1993, at St. Mary Church in Auburn with the Rev. Steve Brodersen as celebrant.
  Lector for the Mass was Deanne Wolterman. Gift bearers were Christy, Kelly, Bobby, Taylor, Kimberly, Amber, Jeremy and Colton Theulen, and Chris Grossman. Mass servers were Trevor and Tony Theulen and Chad Grossman. Eucharistic minister was Evelyn Wolterman.
  Casket bearers were Marvin Nieland, Richard Heim, Keith Grossman, Tim Pietig, Jeff Pietig and Scott Pietig. Honorary casket bearers were Cornelius Daiker, Carl Bruns, Floyd Barto, Harold Gorman, Lester Schulte and Orville Geier.
  Burial was at St. Mary Parish Cemetery in Auburn.
  Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll was in charge of arrangements.
  He was born May 14, 1922, at Dedham, a son of Fred and Jessie (Beebe) Theulen. He spent his younger years in the Dedham community and attended Dedham Schools before attending Carroll High School.
  He and Louise Heim were married June 27, 1946, in Carroll. Following their marriage the Theulens made their home in Auburn, where Mr. Theulen was employed by a general trucking business, Standard Oil Tank Truck Service, Hicks Well Co. and Brincks Enterprises.
  In 1977 he became employed at New Hope Village in Carroll as a resident attendant, a position he held until 1985, when he retired due to ill health.
  He was a member of St. Mary's Parish at Auburn.
  Mr. Theulen is survived by his wife, Louise, of Auburn; two daughters, Karma Pietig and her husband, Ronald, of Carroll and their children, Tim, Jeff and Scott and Scott's fiancé, Kim Paulson; Kathy Grossman and her husband, Dan, of Carroll and their children, Keith, Chad and Chris; three sons, Robert L. Theulen and his wife, Sandy, of Auburn and their children, Christy, Kelly, Bobby and Colton; Randy Theulen and his wife, Cheri, of Halbur and their children, Trevor, Tony and Taylor; and Rodney Theulen and his friend. Deb McHugh, of Lake Park, Iowa, and Rodney's children, Kimberly, Amber and Jeremy; a brother, Raymond Theulen and his wife, Marie, of Council Bluffs; and a sister, Beverly Balukoff and her husband, Louis, of Dedham.
  He was preceded in death by his parents: a granddaughter, Jennifer Theulen; a sister, Glenda Vanderheiden; and a brother, Joseph Theulen.
