Mrs. Rose Thobe
Auburn - Mrs. Rose Thobe, 65, of Auburn, died Friday, Sept.
10, at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City.
Requiem mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's
Catholic Church here, with the Rev. Gerald R. Wingert as celebrant.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m.
Saturday at the Huffman Memorial Chapel in Lake City, where the rosary
will be recited at 8 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Thobe was born May 4, 1906, at Breda, a daughter of William
and Agnes Rauch Geier. Her marriage to Bernard John Thobe took place at
Breda Aug. 28, 1928, and she had lived at Auburn for the last 21 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society, Auburn.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond of Green Bay, Wis., and Larry
of Auburn; three daughters, Mrs. James (Irene) Hadju and Mrs. Herbert
(Lorraine) Marsh, both of Freeport, Ill., and Mrs. James (Lois) McBride
of Elverta, Calif.; also 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three
sisters, Mrs. Herbert Garnatz of Auburn, Mrs. Fred Ortner and Mrs. Fred
Meister, Carroll; and two brothers, John Geier of Breda and Charles
Geier, Glidden. Mrs. Thobe was preceded in death by her husband in
August, 1970; one grandchild and four sisters.

Lake City - Requiem mass for Mrs. Rose Thobe, 65, of Auburn,
was held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Auburn with Rev. G.
R. Wingert as celebrant. Pallbearers were Orville Geier, Kenneth Garnatz,
David Ortner, Melvin Ortner, Wayne Vonnahme, and Clem Orth.
Burial was in the parish cemetery in charge of the Huffman
Memorial Chapel of Lake City. Mrs. Thobe died Friday, Sept. 10, at
Stewart Memorial Hospital, Lake City. Survivors include two sons, three
daughters, 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three sisters and two brothers.
