| Mrs. Emma Thorpe
Lake View - Mrs. Emma Jean Thorpe, 86, of Lake View died
Friday, Feb. 26, at Twilight Acres nursing home in Wall Lake.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Farber and Otteman
Funeral Home, Lake View, with the Rev. George Brighton officiating. Mrs.
LaGene Holdcroft played organ selections.
Pallbearers were Willard Swanson, Paul Simon, Dale Gates, James
Scott, Glen Kolbe and Don Tjaden. Burial was in the Early Union Cemetery at Early.
Mrs. Thorpe was the widow of Merrill Thorpe, who died in July,
1975. She was born June 2, 1889, a daughter of Thomas E. and Anabel Story Taubman.
She is survived by three children: Mrs. E.J. (Genevieve) Reinart,
Ervin and Sherman, all of Lake View; nine grandchildren, 22
great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Thorpe also was preceded in death by a sister and three infant brothers.
