Catherine Mildred Tracey
Catherine Mildred Tracey, daughter of Geo. and Catherine
Nesbit Tracey, was born September 20, 1900 in Taylor county, Iowa, and
passed away December 10, 1961 at Rosary hospital in Coming, Iowa.
She moved with her parents to a farm south of Corning on March 1,
1901 where she had since resided. Mildred received her education in the
Adams county schools, Boyles Business College of Omaha and was graduated
from the Sherwood Music School of Chicago, Ill. She had a life-time
certificate to teach music in the public schools.
She was an active member or the St. Patrick Altar Society, a
member of the League of the Sacred Heart, and is a charter member of the
Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by four brothers, Jos. Hugh and Francis at home,
Geo. of California; one sister, Violet Curry of Kansas City, Mo.; three
nieces and two nephews; one aunt, Mrs. Ed Hogan of Corning. Her parents,
a sister, Mary McEniry and a brother Arthur, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, December 13, 1961
at St. Patrick Catholic church with the Rev. Father Jacob Weiss
officiating. Pallbearers were Homer O'Connell, Edmund Talty, John Jones,
John Keefe, Wm. Ryan, Art Marlatt. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
Relatives from a distance attending the services were Sr. M. Claude
Agnes of Dubuque, Jas. Greenwood, of Farley, Harold Murphy of Ryan, Wm.
Wood of Creston, Joe Curry of Council Bluffs and Gerald Curry of Council Bluffs.
