Hugh J. Tracey
Hugh Joseph Tracey, son of George and Catherine Nesbit Tracey
was born June 3, 1904 in Adams county, Iowa and passed away March 14,
1964 at Veteran's Hospital, Omaha, Nebr.
He received his education in Adams county, graduating from
Corning high school in 1922. He was a veteran of World War II and a
member of the American Legion.
He is survived by three brothers, James and Francis of Corning
and George of California; one sister, Violet Curry of Diamond Springs,
Calif.; a brother-in-law, Joseph Curry of Council Bluffs; three nieces;
two nephews. Two sisters, Mary and Mildred and a brother, Arthur
preceded him in death.
Services were held Monday, March 16 at 10 a.m. from St. Patrick
Catholic church with Rev. Jacob Weiss officiating Pallbearers were Homer
O'Connell, Edmund Talty, John Jones, John Keefe, Wm. Ryan and John Kane.
Burial was In Calvary cemetery.
Relatives from a distance were Sr. M. Agnes of Dubuque, Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Greenwood of Farley, Harold Murphy and wife of Ryan, William
Woods of Creston, Joe Curry of Council Bluffs, Gerald Curry of Diamond
Springs, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Hogan of Denver, Colo., Vincent
and Harold Greenwood of Dubuque and Mrs. Jim Greenwood of Monticello.
