Donna Marie Vastine
DAVENPORT -- Donna Marie Vastine, of Davenport, died Monday,
Oct. 18, 2004, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. Mass of
Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at St. Paul the
Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at
the Runge Mortuary, Davenport, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Burial
will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to St.
Paul the Apostle Church or to the Kahl Home.
Donna was born May 14, 1933, in Davenport, to Merle D. and
Veronica M. (Hild) Vastine Sr. She had been employed for 43 years as a
telephone operator the last 10 years with AT & T. She was a member
of St. Paul the Apostle Church, Daughters of Isabella, Women of the
Moose, 21 Club and Telephone Pioneers. She loved going to the theatre
and dining out.
Those left to honor her memory include brother and sister-in-law,
Merle "Mick" Jr. and Pat Vastine, Davenport; sisters, Jean
Mueller and Pat Murphy, both of Bettendorf; father, Merle D. Vastine
Sr., Davenport; 16 nieces and nephews; and 33 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
