Mrs. Caroline Veit
Mrs. Caroline Veil, 76, former Odebolt resident who lived at
the Carroll Health Center for the past three years, died Tuesday noon,
March 25, at the Health Center.
Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday at St. Martin's Church in Odebolt, with a rosary recitation
following at 8:30 at the Farber and Ottoman Funeral Home, east chapel,
at Odebolt. On Thursday there will be a prayer service and rosary at 11
a.m. at the chapel and burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery. The Rev.
Linus Eisenbacher will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Soyer, Duane Veit, Robert Dimiig, Michael
Humlicek, Paul Veit and Paul Dinges.
Mrs. Veit, daughter of Peter and Gertrude Smith, was born at Lake
View May 31,1898. She married Joseph Veit Nov. 18, 1919, at Odebolt, and
they lived in Minnesota for four years and then moved to Odebolt. Mr.
Veit died in May, 1974.
She is survived by nine children including Clarissa and Mrs.
Albert (Theresa) Soyer of Carroll; Mrs. D.W. (Celestine) Sigler and
Charles of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Lawrence (Agnes) Sporleder of Lidderdale,
Mrs. Douglas (Veronica) Hughes of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Ernie (Joan)
Jacobson of St. Paul, Minn., William of Hacienda Heights, Calif., and
Albert of San Dimas, Calif.; 32 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren
and a sister, Mrs. Kate Prokop of Mapleton.
