Clarissa G. Veit, 87, of Odebolt died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009,
at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation in Carroll.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at St.
Martin Catholic Church in Odebolt with the Rev. John McGuirk officiating.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation starts at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Farber and Otteman Funeral Home of Odebolt is in charge of arrangements.
A daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Smith) Veit, she was born Jan.
29, 1921, at Austin, Minn., was baptized in Minnesota, received First
Holy Communion in 1942 and was confirmed in 1944.
Miss Veit did housekeeping and was caregiver for her parents. She
resided at New Hope Village in Carroll for over 30 years.
She was a member of St. Martin Parish and enjoyed embroidery,
quilting, puzzles, traveling, shopping and Special Olympics.
Survivors include a brother, Albert Veit, and his wife, Vera, of
Ute; three sisters: Agnes Sporleder of Carroll, Veronica Hewitt of
Denver, Colo., and Theresa Soyer of Carroll; and friends at New Hope Village.
Miss Veit was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers:
Charles and William Veit; two sisters: Celestine Sigler and Joan Van
Camp; and a nephew, Jerry Templeton.
