Joseph Veit
Joseph Veit, 84, a resident of the Carroll Health Center, died
Saturday, May 4, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. He was a former
Odebolt resident and had lived in Carroll two years.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Martin's Catholic Church,
Odebolt, with burial in the parish cemetery. The Rev. Linus Eisenbacher
officiated. The Farber and Otteman Funeral Home, of Odebolt was in
charge of arrangements.
Mr. Veit was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Veit. On Nov. 18, 1919,
he was married at Odebolt to Caroline Smith, who resides at the Health Center.
Surviving with his wife are the following children: Clarissa and
Mrs. Albert (Theresa) Soyer of Carroll, Mrs. D. W. (Christine) Sigler
and Charles of Omaha, Mrs. Lawrence (Agnes) Sporleder of Lidderdale,
William of Hacienda Heights, Calif., Albert of San Dimas, Calif., Mrs.
Douglas (Veronica) Hughes of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. George (Joan) Drew
of Butte, Mont.
Also surviving are 32 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren
and two sisters, Clara of Odebolt and Sr. Clara Veit of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Rev. Charles, Rev.
William, Paul and John Veit, and a sister, Mary Veit.
