Emma Fisher
Miss Emma Fisher, daughter of John and Mrs. Elizabeth Fisher,
was born in Lucas, Iowa, December 10, 1855, and died at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Mina Reed, in Corning, September 8, 1928, aged 73 years,
7 months and 7 days.
Miss Fisher was united in marriage to Charley Venn, December 24,
1881. Five children survive her. They are Luella Peterson and Mrs. Frank
White of Omaha; Mrs. Mina Reed, of Corning; Mrs. Ella Hunter, of Omaha,
and Mrs. Hattie Hauna, of South Dakota; also two sisters, Mrs. Sarah
Paul, of Corning, and Mrs. Rachel McMain, Derby, Iowa.
Mrs. Venn was a member of the United Brethren church of Corning.
She leaves thirty grandchildren, and many other relatives to mourn her
departure. Her husband and three children preceded her in death.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. W. Verts, pastor of the
Corning Baptist church on September 13th, at 2:30 p. m., at the Baptist
Church. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery, south of the city.
