Bernard J. Verschoore
Bernard J. Verschoore, 78, of Moline, died Wednesday June 3,
2009 at his home.
A memorial visitation will be held 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at
Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a
Christian wake service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Inurnment will be
at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Bernard was born April 1, 1931, in Rock Island, a son of Albert
and Leona M. Heyninck Verschoore.
He worked for many years for several area construction companies.
He retired in 1993.
Bernard loved to fish and was a former member of the Rock Island
Conservation Club. He was an active supporter of Alzheimer's research.
Survivors include his sons, Bradley Verschoore, Moline, and Bryan
Verschoore, Taylor Ridge; brother, Richard Verschoore, Rock Island;
niece, Gloria Shanahan, Vandalia, Ohio; and other relatives. His parents
preceded him in death.
