Betty Waterbury
Funeral service for Betty Waterbury of Boone will be at 11
a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone.
Mrs. Waterbury, 62, formerly of Manning, died of respiratory
failure Sunday, May 9, at the Boone County Hospital in Boone.
The Rev. Clem Currans will officiate at the service, and burial
will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Boone.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral
home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service
will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at 8 a.m. Thursday at
the funeral home until the time of the service.
A daughter of Joseph and Cletta (Reinhart) Hoffman, she was born
Aug. 7, 1941, in Manning and graduated from Manning High School in 1959.
She married Robert Waterbury on July 11, 1959, in Manning. The
couple moved to Boone in 1971.
Mrs. Waterbury was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion
Auxiliary the DAV Auxiliary and the Women's International Bowling
Congress (WIBC). She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, bowling and reading.
Survivors include her husband, Robert, of Boone; a son, Michael
Waterbury, and his fiancé, Ann Piotrowski, of Rice, Minn.; four
daughters: Michele Waterbury, Maria Anderson and her husband, Jack, and
Melissa Coghlan and her husband, Dave, all of Boone, and Monica Wulff
and her husband, Martin, of Gig Harbor, Wash.; five grandchildren; one
great-grandson; two brothers: Melvin Hoffman and his wife, Helen, of
Rawlins, Wyo., and Hilbert Hoffman and his wife, Deb, of Orlando, Fla.;
a sister, Barb Riesenberg, and her husband, Jerome, of Roselle; and
aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
